Dialogue with Jesus

Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a teacher of the law, think professor. He was a highly respected religious leader, but he knew being good and kind and religious was not enough. He was empty on the inside and went secretly to visit Jesus. "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him" (John 3:2). Jesus replied, "No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again" (John 3:3). Nicodemus wondered how this could happen. Surely he could not enter his mother's womb as a man. Jesus explained that spiritual birth is different from physical birth. "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit" (John 3:8). Jesus went on to explain that He would die on a Roman cross to give us spiritual birth. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him, will not die but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

This simple message is the foundation of our faith. Jesus did everything necessary to rescue us from a life of sin. By believing this, we surrender our lives to God and receive new life in Him. In Christ we are a new creation; old things have passed away; all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

People often think they have to give up too much to live for God. Think about this: What about a life without fear, anxiety or anger? What about a life of peace and hope and love? If this is your desire, pray this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I am sorry for the way I have lived and I want to live for you. Forgive me of my sins and help me live a life pleasing to you. I pray these things in the name of Jesus, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, we would like you to call so we can pray for you and give you a Bible if you do not have one. Please call (501) 315-5557. God bless you.
